Junjiro Shida

Dr. Shida holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Chuo University. His research focuses on Cold War history, hybrid warfare, cognitive warfare, Japan’s defense policy, and international politics in the Indo-Pacific. His major works include The End of the Cold War and U.S. Diplomacy: The George H. W. Bush Administration and German Unification (Yushindo, 2020), which received the 26th Shimizu Hiroshi Prize from the Japanese Association for American Studies, and Hybrid Warfare: The Shifting International Order (Namiki Shobo, 2024).
Based in Okinawa, he actively collaborates with government institutions such as the Ministry of Defense, the Self-Defense Forces, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as academic and policy communities both in Japan and abroad.
